Products that are made from biodegradable materials like paper or bioplastics and promise to quickly degrade, induce littering. Solely the name encourages people to leave their litter in nature "with a clear conscience". But these materials degrade extremely slowly and are therefore harmful to our environment. On top, greenhouse gases arise instead of giving a second life to the product.

Product bans are not the solution to littering. Instead of the banned product, its alternative will end up in nature. We are the cause of environmental pollution, not the product!

Manufacturers are responsible for the product design, but not for incorrect disposal. Only you, the end consumer, decide whether the product will end up in the correct bin or in the environment at the end of its shelf life.
